Written in plain language
We have written these terms to be read, not to be survived. They are not legal advice. If anything here is unclear, email us and we will explain it.
These terms apply whenever you use Aiydo - browsing the site, creating an account, reading a free lesson, or buying a course. Aiydo is operated by an individual (sole trader) trading under that name. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Aiydo, and “you” means the person using the platform.
By creating an account or making a purchase, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your information.
One set of terms for the whole platform - the free parts, the paid parts, and everything in between.
You need an account to track progress, take part in lesson discussions, and open anything you have bought. When you have one:
We may suspend or close an account that breaches the acceptable-use section below. If we ever do that to an account holding a paid course, we will refund the unused portion unless the breach involved reselling or redistributing the course material.
One account, one person. Close it whenever you like. We only step in if it is being misused.
Paid courses are a one-off purchase, not a subscription. There is nothing recurring to cancel.
Payment is taken by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Access opens as soon as Stripe confirms the payment. If a payment succeeds but access does not appear, email us and we will fix it - your receipt from Stripe is proof enough.
Pay once, keep it. Stripe handles the card, we hand over the course.
If you change your mind, email privacy@aiydo.academy within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund you in full. You do not need to give a reason, and it does not matter how much of the course you have read.
Refunds go back to the card you paid with, usually within five to ten business days once we process them. When we refund a course, access to it closes.
This 14-day window is something we offer on top of the law, not instead of it. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law: if a course is not as described, not fit for purpose, or has a major problem, you are entitled to a remedy - including a refund - whenever that happens.
Not for you? Email us inside 14 days and you get your money back, no questions. Your consumer-law rights sit underneath that and never expire.
Prices are shown in Australian dollars (A$) on the English site and Japanese yen (¥) on the Japanese site. Which currency you see follows the language you are browsing in, not where you are. Depending on your location and our tax registrations at the time, tax (for example GST, JCT or VAT) may be calculated and added at checkout - Stripe calculates this automatically, and you will always see the total before you pay.
We may change our prices at any time, but a change never affects a purchase you have already made. Where a price is described as founding or early-access pricing, that is a limited offer and will not last.
If your card is issued outside Australia, your bank may apply its own currency conversion or international transaction fee. That fee is your bank's, not ours, and we have no control over it.
Australian dollars on the English site, yen on the Japanese one. Tax, if any applies to you, is calculated by Stripe and shown before you pay - never added afterwards. Overseas cards may attract a fee from your own bank.
The first lesson of every course you can buy today is free to read so you can judge it before buying. Free lessons are read-only: your progress, notes, and quiz answers are not saved until you own the course. Free content is provided for your own personal learning. Please do not copy, republish, resell, or share it as your own, and do not use automated tools to scrape or bulk-download it.
Read the first lesson of anything you can buy today before you pay. It is yours to learn from, not to repackage.
We send you the emails you need in order to use the platform - confirming your account, and a receipt when you buy a course. These are part of the service and cannot be switched off while you have an account. A receipt is sent after your access has already been granted, so if one never arrives, nothing you paid for is affected: email us and we will resend it, and your Stripe receipt is proof of payment either way. We are not signing anyone up to a launch-news list at the moment; if you joined one earlier, every message we send you carries an unsubscribe link that still works. How we handle your email address is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Account emails, and a receipt when you buy. A missing receipt never costs you access. No new marketing list, and anyone on the old one can leave anytime.
Parts of the course use AI: a practice assistant you can chat with inside a lesson, and written feedback on capstone submissions. To provide these, what you type is sent to third-party AI providers (OpenRouter and Anthropic) to generate a response. Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what that means for your information.
AI output can be confidently wrong. Treat it as a practice partner and a prompt for your own thinking, not as a source of truth - and never as professional, legal, financial, or technical advice. Check anything that matters before you act on it.
Please do not paste confidential, personal, or client information into the assistant. Use of these features is capped per day to keep them available and affordable for everyone; automating or reselling access to them is not permitted.
The AI is a sparring partner, not an authority. It gets things wrong, your words go to an AI provider to answer you, and confidential material does not belong in it.
When you use this platform, please do not:
We rate-limit submissions and moderate discussions to keep the platform healthy and the community usable. We can hide or remove a post, and suspend an account, where this section is breached.
Use it the normal, human way. No bots, no break-in attempts, no lifting the content, and be decent to the other learners.
The course material, the site design, and the name “Aiydo” belong to us or our licensors. Buying a course gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to read and use it for your own learning and your own work - including work you do for an employer or client. It does not transfer ownership, and it does not let you teach it, resell it, or publish it.
What you write stays yours. Your notes, discussion posts, and capstone submissions belong to you; you grant us only the permission we need to store them and show them where you intended - your notes to you, your posts in the lesson thread.
The course is ours and stays ours; use it for your own work all you like. What you write is yours and stays yours.
We work to keep the platform available, but we cannot promise it will always be up, error-free, or unchanged. Courses evolve: we add, revise, and occasionally retire material. If we ever retire a course you have bought, we will tell you first and give you a way to keep what you need.
Things break and courses change. We will not pull something you paid for without warning you.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded - including guarantees that services are provided with due care and skill. Subject to those rights, and to the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything connected with the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
Your legal consumer rights always stand. Beyond those, what you paid us is the ceiling.
We will update these terms as the platform grows. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and where a change materially affects you - pricing, refunds, or your rights - we will tell you by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Terms change. Anything that actually affects you gets an email first, not a silent edit.
